FOR THE GREATER HOOD
In the winter there are over 63,000 people sleeping in NYC shelters and ¾ of them are families. So we did something about it and teamed up with Hoodies for the Homeless to create a pop-up shop in NYC. We branded the pop-up, “For The Greater Hood”, a place that recognized the homeless as individuals rather than a statistic or a group. We created an atmosphere of belonging and community where people spent time shopping and enjoying the experience with dignity rather than just getting a quick hand out.
Customers were able to get haircuts, enjoy music, art, and select their hoodie and sneaker of choice. At the end of the weekend we gave out over 3,000 hoodies, 300 pairs of new kicks, and thousands of scarves and gloves, providing warmth and comfort to our fellow New Yorkers — but most importantly, we placed a little value back into their lives.
